Transform a playing card into a work of art in this collage book making workshop for young creatives!

About the workshop

In this workshop, transform a simple playing card into a work of art! Enjoy collaborative warm-up activities, meet other young creatives and leave with a unique handmade creation.

Explore photomontage collage techniques, erasure and a range of mixed media experiments to creature your own playing card designs, then assemble them into miniature booklets.

During the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to learn more about how to join our art collective and contribute to an upcoming exhibition at the October Gallery.

As part of Assemblage Collective’s residency at the Foundling Museum, we are exploring some of its fascinating history through our workshops. In this session, we will be inspired by the playing card tokens, which were identifying objects parents left with their children at the Foundling Hospital in the eighteenth century.

This workshop is open to anyone aged 18-30 and you don’t need any prior experience to join us. If you’re looking to find out more about joining an art collective, want to be creative in a supportive environment, learn more about collage or book making, or simply have a chat with other like-minded people, this event is for you!
