Assemblage is a collective of creatives aged 18-30 who make art and produce creative workshops that critically engage with the Museum’s legacy of activism and social change.
The Collective produces monthly events for young adults, working with multidisciplinary artists to create a varied and alternative arts programme inspired by the Foundling Museum’s collection and temporary exhibitions. These workshops provide opportunities to discover new creative skills, build networks, and make art in a supportive and friendly environment.
As well as delivering workshops onsite, the Collective has also collaborated with local arts spaces such as the October Gallery, British Museum and University of the Arts London.
Founded in 2021, the name Assemblage was chosen to reflect the group’s interest in collage. Assemblage is the art of assembling different elements into a creative whole, which reflects the collective’s interest in collage and a multidisciplinary definition of art.
Assemblage Collective is made up of about 15 members, and regularly welcomes new members into the group. Interested in taking part? Email tascha@foundlingmuseum.org.uk to find out more.

This workshop gave me the time and space to rekindle that lost sense of play, specifically play in a comfortable environment where I didn't need to mask. The workshop was just the ideal mishmash of information, engagement with the museum collection and crafting. It was perfect.
