There are few artists whose music is as deeply intertwined with personal experience as Brad’s. Placed in foster care at the age of seven, later experiencing homelessness, and entirely self-taught, Brad’s journey is one of resilience, hope and extraordinary determination. Through music, he has transformed challenge into creativity, touching audiences across the country with performances that are both powerful and deeply moving.
This concert holds particular significance at the Foundling Museum, the UK’s only museum dedicated to the experiences of people who have been in care and the artists, past and present, inspired by their stories. Brad’s life echoes many of the themes at the heart of the Museum’s history: the impact of care, the importance of being given a chance to thrive and the enduring power of human kindness.
Audiences first discovered Brad when he won Series 2 of Channel 4’s The Piano, where Lang Lang praised the ‘enormous feeling of love’ and ‘waves of emotions’ in his playing.
During the series finale, Brad performed a piece dedicated to his foster parents, Ev and Frank, whom he credits with giving him ‘the capability to dream, to believe that anything was actually possible.’
‘When I told them about wanting a piano, they were immediately like, ‘yes’,’ Brad said. ‘There was a budget for kids in the care system, and Ev put some money in and got me a piano – and from that moment, my whole life changed.’
In this special solo performance, Brad will share some of his most loved compositions in an intimate setting, surrounded by the art and history of Foundling Museum. This promises to be a poignant and uplifting evening that celebrates music, perseverance, and the power of believing in potential.
Brad announced the show in September by saying ‘I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be playing a special intimate show on November 27th at the Foundling Museum in London! It’s been over a year since I last played my own show in the city and I can’t wait to come back and see you all again.’

There are fewer stories more heartfelt and inspiring in music than Kella’s. Coming through early adversity, being fostered and ending up living on the streets, he went on to win Channel 4’s The Piano. Kella says: ‘After seeing a teacher play piano in high school, I went home and asked my foster parents if I could have a piano, which just seemed like a pipe dream. I had no training, no lessons. It’s like there’s this muscle memory from somewhere I can’t explain. Straight away I was composing my own songs.’ It’s a testament to any piano player’s ability to have Lang Lang, one of the world’s most respected classical musicians describe your playing so evocatively, telling Brad, ‘you use all the colours of the piano already, it’s remarkable.’
Since winning The Piano in 2024, Brad has sold out Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall, supported Gary Barlow on tour, and been honoured with a blue plaque at Liverpool ONE, where he once busked to support himself and his daughters. His debut album, Phoebe’s Melody, also reached number one in the classical charts. In 2025, Brad was appointed ambassador of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, which aims to make music education an integral part of children’s lives across the world.
