Situated in the heart of Bloomsbury, central London, and set in an elegant, Georgian-style building, the Foundling Museum provides a beautiful, unique wedding venue in central London for your civil ceremony or reception.
Take your vows in one of our picturesque rooms, then relax and enjoy champagne in our historic interiors. The Court Room provides the perfect setting for an intimate wedding breakfast with its sumptuous Rococo interior. Guests can dine amongst works by great British painters William Hogarth and Thomas Gainsborough, with windows overlooking Brunswick Square. If you are looking for a larger space then dinner can be served in the Picture Gallery, which is well-suited for speeches and houses a selection of artistic treasures. The ground floor is ideal for dancing, or your guests can enjoy exclusive use of the Museum, exploring our opulent interiors whilst enjoying champagne and canapés. The Museum is perfect as a large, medium or small wedding venue in London.
The Museum’s interiors and adjacent Brunswick Square provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs as part of an intimate wedding experience. We work closely with a selection of photographers and approved suppliers including caterers, florists and musicians. See our Plan Your Event page for more details about our wedding suppliers.

Thank you for helping to make our wedding on Saturday so memorable. It was everything we’d hoped for, and more, and we are totally indebted to the Foundling Museum for helping to make everyone feel so welcome and for making the evening go so smoothly. We had loads of positive comments from our guests about the venue and the organisation, which is entirely down to your team.
Our son was married at the Foundling Museum last August. The ceremony took place in the beautiful, brilliantly lit Picture Gallery, with live music in a serene and gently solemn atmosphere. We then moved to the Court Room for a drinks reception and a few speeches, and went back to the transformed Picture Gallery for the dinner. The Museum staff were discreet but wonderfully efficient, and very pleasant. The catering was superb. A very memorable occasion!
We were married at the Foundling Museum in August and it we could not have been more delighted with every aspect of the day. The setting is simply beautiful – and with flowers the romance of the Picture Gallery and the Court Room comes fully alive.
The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout the process in all sorts of ways – suggesting an amazing florist (Nicky Doodson) and photographer (Dan Weill) making planning the day so much easier. The fact that both knew the venue and the staff made co-ordination between them very simple. Also, having a piano in the Picture Gallery was a great advantage in having music during the ceremony. We would unreservedly recommend the venue to anyone and were particularly pleased that our wedding could contribute to the charitable work of Foundling Museum.
When we started to look for the perfect venue for our wedding, we had a clear picture in our minds of what we wanted: somewhere intimate and classically romantic, whilst at the same time interesting and unique. The Foundling Museum offered us all of these qualities and the flexibility to plan a ceremony and reception which suited our needs exactly. From the moment we stepped inside the Court Room on our first tour around the venue, we knew that we wanted to become husband and wife in that room.
Our friends and family still mention how beautiful and special the venue was and it has even been admired from afar, by those who couldn’t come on the day and have since seen it in photographs.
