14-21 year-olds shared their experiences of growing up in care in this unique audio exhibition.

The stories of young people in care today were themed to sit alongside objects in the Introductory Gallery, comparing social care in the past with the present. Visitors could scan QR codes on the labels of selected works with their smartphone in order to hear the audio recordings. Each track examined different aspects of life in the care system, from arriving at care homes to running away from them, the stigma attached to growing up in care and the difficulties of moving on to independent living.
