It is with great sadness that we announce the death of the Museum’s President, Patrick Walker OBE.
Patrick was Chairman from 1999-2006. The Foundling Museum was born out of his vision, passion and commitment, which drove the successful fundraising campaign that restored the Foundling Hospital’s historic Collection and renovated 40 Brunswick Square, enabling us to open to the public in 2004.
After stepping down as Chairman, he remained an active and devoted champion of both the Museum and the people who work here. His good humour, encouragement and unfailing generosity will be missed by us all. No museum could have wished for a better founding father or friend.
