This exhibition examined the contributions made by William Hogarth during his life to the Foundling Hospital.

Looking at the depth of caring that this one man had for London’s children through his charity, this exhibition was a chance for all of London to experience a side of Hogarth that is rarely explored, looking at the passion and compassion behind Hogarth’s life’s work. Hogarth was committed to the Foundling Hospital from the beginning as a Governor, a member of the Court and General Committee, and the designer of the Hospital’s crest and seal. Beyond his administrative and design duties, Hogarth and his wife also served as foster parents for foundlings in the Hospital’s care.
