We are delighted to welcome José Teixeira, a trombonist currently undertaking a Master in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. José previously studied bass trombone under James Buckle, principle bass trombonist of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and has served as the music resident of the Robert Anderson Trust since 2020.
José has collaborated with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, and Southbank Sinfonia among many others. In 2022, he participated in the BBC Symphony Orchestra Scheme mentored by Dan Jenkins, and in 2023 joined the English National Opera Evolve Scheme. Also in 2023, José was awarded first place in the British Trombone Society’s Trombone Choir Competition with the Royal College of Music Trombone Choir.
Our Young Artists’ Platform programme showcases exceptional musicians at the start of their musical career. In partnership with Philharmonia Orchestra, the programme provides monthly recital opportunities for their Philharmonia Instrumental Fellows.
