Take a break from the bustle of London and enjoy a gentle lunchtime recital by flautist, Joidy Blanco Lewis.

We are delighted to welcome Joidy Blanco Lewis, a flautist studying for a Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music, as part of our Young Artists’ Platform partnership with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Our Young Artists’ Platform programme showcases exceptional musicians at the start of their musical career. In partnership with Philharmonia Orchestra, the programme provides monthly recital opportunities for their Philharmonia Instrumental Fellows.

About Joidy Blanco Lewis

Joidy Blanco is a Venezuelan flautist, celebrated for her success in international music competitions, including the  Tchaikovsky International Competition and the Kobe International Flute Competition.

She began her flute studies at age 8 in Caracas through the renowned “El Sistema” program and made her solo debut with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra. She went on the study at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, the Haute École de Musique in Geneva and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. At the latter she was honored as the “Most Outstanding Student” by Queen Sofía of Spain. She has performed as a soloist with major orchestras, including the Mariinsky Orchestra and the Göttinger Symphonie Orchester, as well as the Rostov Philharmonic.
