In this special event learn more about artist Mikhail Karikis’s work as he talks to the Foundling Museum’s director Emma Ridgway, and watch a brand new live performance.
Rooted in collective listening and shared sound‑making, Karikis’s work explores how voice can become a powerful force for storytelling, imagination, and new ways of being together. Building on his acclaimed audio visual installation We Are Together Because…, featured in our current exhibition A Grand Chorus: The Power of Music, this event offers a unique opportunity to experience and discover the artist’s participatory practice.
At the centre of the evening is a live performance developed with students from Lisbon who have a long-standing creative relationship with Karikis. Responding directly to the urgency of the climate crisis, the performance highlights the power of emotional connection and hope. Experience how music and collective action can shape possibilities for survival and renewal in challenging times.
