What does Christmas mean to you? Join illustrator Benjamin Phillips to create festive prints and learn how artists bring stories to life for authors like Michael Rosen.
There are two sessions running from 11am-1pm and 2-4pm. The workshop is suitable for 5-12 year-olds.
You can also hear Michael Rosen himself read a selection of his much-loved poems on the day. Tickets must be booked separately, see the event page for more details.

Led by a professional artist with all materials provided, all you have to do is bring yourselves! We advise dressing for a mess. Tickets also include free entry to the Museum so you can explore at your leisure.
About Benjamin Phillips
Benjamin Phillips is an illustrator, artist and author based in Hastings, UK. From his studio he creates illustrations, ceramics, and artworks for a wide range of commercial and personal projects. Phillips illustrated Michael Rosen’s book One Day which is nominated for the Carnegie Medal for Illustration. In 2024, he won the the title of Moira Gemmill Illustrator of the Year at the V&A Illustration Awards.

Yes, booking is essential. We encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment as our workshops often sell out.
Yes, you must book an adult plus a child ticket to gain entry to the workshop. If there are more adults or children in your group you must also purchase an ‘additional adult’ or ‘additional child’ ticket. Adults are welcome to also get stuck into the activities.
No, the workshops start promptly at 11am and 2pm and run for the full two hours.
No, children must be accompanied by an adult, no child can be left unattended.
Of course. If you’re attending with an older child, please feel free to bring your baby along, either held or in a pram.
