Informed by interviews with a former pupil of the Foundling Hospital, A Voice is a poignant and humorous bridge between past, present and future, bringing together experiences of care across time. The installation was created by artist Albert Potrony and trainees from the Museum’s Tracing Our Tales programme, Rohima, Ameera, Sofia, Tyrone, Nia, Kara and Leyla.
A sound piece originally part of the installation but no longer available in the Museum, can be listened to below. Made by the trainees, the work features clips from an interview with a former Foundling Hospital pupil who talks about his experiences of life in care. Two voices collide as care leavers past and present come together.
