Enjoy a lunchtime concert in our Picture Gallery from Edward Mead, Cello Fellow of the Philharmonia Orchestra.

We are delighted to welcome Eddie Mead, a cellist and composer who has worked with the New London Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru, and The English Concert, among others. He studied under Richard Lester at the Royal College of Music, and is now the Jenny Ward-Clarke Scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, under Jonathan Manson.

The performance will last an hour, and is free with the price of admission.

About Edward Mead

Welsh cellist Edward Mead is a dedicated and experienced musician, playing on both modern and period instruments. He has appeared as a guest principal cellist of the New London Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru and as a soloist with the Nidum Ensemble. He has worked with groups including The English Concert, with whom he was also a Fellow, Meridian Sinfonia, Marryat Players Festival Ensemble, and Music Theatre Wales. He previously sat as a principal cellist and Leverhume Scholar of NYOGB and has played in venues including Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Centre, Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms) and Berlin Konzerthaus. Eddie is also a published composer whose music has been performed by musicians including Sussane Kessel, Jackie Shave, and John Kenney, in venues including Beethoven-Haus Bonn Kammermusiksaal. He studied at RCM with Richard Lester and is now with Jonathan Manson at RAM where he’s the Jenny Ward-Clarke Scholar and supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
