We are delighted to welcome Pau Hernández Santamaria, a trombonist studying for a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music, as part of our Young Artists’ Platform partnership with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Our Young Artists’ Platform programme showcases exceptional musicians at the start of their musical career. In partnership with Philharmonia Orchestra, the programme provides monthly recital opportunities for their Philharmonia Instrumental Fellows.
About Pau Hernández Santamaria
Born in Catarroja, Spain, in 2001, trombonist Pau Hernández is currently enrolled in a Master of Performance course at the Royal College of Music as a holder of the ABRSM EU Postgraduate Scholarship. He moved to London in 2019 to study a Bachelor of Music at the Royal College of Music, graduating with honours in July 2023.
Pau has been on trial for second Principal Trombone of the Ulster Orchestra and has performed for other ensembles such as the London Sinfonietta and the Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra. He is a versatile musician who enjoys different sides of the music industry: he was awarded the 2nd Prize in the Sackbut Competition of the British Trombone Society in 2022 and this season he will take part in the London Musical Theatre Orchestra Development Scheme, having been played in many musical theatre productions for companies like Geoids Musical Theatre, SEDOS, and Centre Stage London.
