Timed tickets
To continue to ensure generous physical distancing, we’re limiting the number of people in the building through timed tickets. We recommend that you book your tickets online in advance, including those of you eligible for free admission.
You will need to choose a half hour time slot for your arrival, and you can click here to book now. If you book the last slot of the day, it’s worth arriving promptly to give you the time you’ll need to enjoy everything that we have on display.
Masks and face coverings
Our staff will be wearing masks. If you’re able to, we kindly ask that you also wear a face covering for your safety and for the safety of other visitors, our volunteers and staff.
On arrival
Please have your ticket ready when you arrive – either printed or on your phone. If you’re buying tickets for others, please ensure they know the name their ticket is booked under.
We have introduced a fully accessible one-way route through the museum, installed floor markings to encourage keeping a safe distance, and ask that everyone respect each other and the physical distancing measures we have put in place.
Enhanced hygiene
Automatic hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed throughout the museum and our staff will regularly clean and disinfect door handles, taps, lift buttons and surfaces.
We encourage you to use contactless payment where possible, however we are now able to take cash.
Cloakroom
Unfortunately, we have had to close the cloakroom so please avoid bringing large bags with you. We do have limited lockers for use of storage for small bags and coats.
Check our Visit page for access arrangements and travel options and click here to book online.
