We were delighted to be shortlisted for a Museums Change Lives Best Project Award for our ground-breaking programme Tracing Our Tales.
Launched this year by the Museums Association, the Museums Change Lives awards programme has been designed to celebrate the achievements of museums and individuals that have made an impact on the lives of their audiences and communities. The inaugural programme has three categories: Best Museums Change Lives Project, the Local Hero Award and Best Small Museum Project; and one category for individuals: the Radical Changemaker Award. The Museums Change Lives Best Project Award recognises the best project in the past year that reflects one or more of the themes of the Museums Association’s Museums Change Lives campaign: Promoting Health and Wellbeing; Creating Better Places; and Inspiring Engagement, Reflection and Debate.
Tracing Our Tales is a three-year project to develop a bespoke, paid training and mentorship programme for care-experienced young adults, with funding from Oak Foundation. You can read more about it here.
