News 27 August 2019 The Foundling Museum acquires important portrait of the Duchess of Portland The Foundling Museum has been gifted, through Art Fund, a portrait by the celebrated eighteenth-century artist from the Northern Netherlands, Mattheus Verheyden (1700-1776), the first known work of his to enter a UK public collection. 19 March 2019 Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge announced as Royal Patron of the Foundling Museum The Foundling Museum is honoured to announce that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has become its Patron. This patronage recognises the Museum’s unique work to transform the wellbeing and life chances of vulnerable children and young adults through creative collaboration with artists.
