On the Sunday when the Virgin Money London Marathon would usually take place, we’re delighted to introduce our runners for this year’s marathon!
The fourth Sunday in April is traditionally the date when the Virgin Money London Marathon is held, but due to the Government’s restrictions this year’s race will be on Sunday 3 October. Running on behalf of the Museum we have three dedicated and keen people, prepared to put in the blood, sweat and tears necessary to complete the gruelling 26.2 miles around London.
Naomi Doye, Gavroche Gergaud, and Rosalind Wilson have all kindly volunteered to run for us. Naomi is currently studying for a Masters in Virology at Imperial, Gavroche is a geography teacher and Head of Year 10, and Rosalind works in pharmaceutical market research. Each has chosen to run for the Museum as they’ve all been moved by the stories we tell through our exhibitions, our family activities and work with local communities, and our focus to help change lives through art. So far, their top tips for preparing for the day are consistency and a training partner. And a brother who’s a Personal Trainer also comes in handy!
