Create a 3d version of your name in this simple art activity.

Did you know, every child admitted to the Foundling Hospital was given a new name. Inspired by the names on display at the Museum, in this activity by artist Julia Deering learn how to create a 3d version of your own name using paper pulp clay. Watch the film below and with just a few simple materials, create a set of colourful letters that you can display at home.

You will need:

  • Newspaper
  • Heatproof container
  • Kettle
  • Spoon
  • Hand-blender (optional)
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Coloured paint
  • Paintbrush
