In a nod to the worldwide travels of foundling boy George King, the programme will be an international one including works by French composers Philippe Gaubert and Maurice Duruflé, premieres of specially written new works by British composer Graham Williams, works by American composers Gary Schocker and Scott Joplin, and a sea shanty by Australian composer Percy Grainger.
The Lodore Trio was formed in 2011, and is made up of Pamela Pecko Smith, flautist, Heather Birt, viola, Margaret Ozanne Roberts, piano. Its members have all spent substantial periods of their lives living and working abroad and they were brought together by a mutual desire to build on their joint, eclectic musical experiences to create chamber music performances with an international and personal flavour. Since then the trio has performed regularly in and around London, occasionally expanding to a larger chamber ensemble with invited guest artists.
