This programme by the London Handel Players reimagines an evening of royal domestic chamber music inspired by Philip Mercier’s The Music Party, 1733. The chamber group London Handel Players will perform arias from Handel’s Milton-based works, L’Allegro and Comus, as well as pieces by Leclair, who was later employed by Princess Anne, and Handel’s flute player, Charles Weideman. Performers include Adrian Butterfield, violin, and Rachel Brown, flute, with members of the London Handel Players.

LeClair, Violin Sonata No.3 in D major 9 (Quatrieme livre)
Premiere Recreation for two violins and continuo in D major Op. 6
Weideman, Flute Concerto in E minor Op. 2 No.6
Handel, Suite for solo harpsichord in G minor HWV 452
Handel, Aria arrangements from L’Allegro HWV 55 and Comus HWV 44
