Hear Beethoven’s Sonatas performed on the Museum’s Broadwood piano.

15:00 | Free with Museum admission

Students from the City Lit Piano Repertoire class perform selected movements from Beethoven’s Sonatas on the Museum’s Broadwood piano. Broadwood was one Beethoven’s favourite piano makers.

Piano repertoire courses at City Lit are weekly classes for advanced pianists (post Grade 8 standard) who meet to explore the wealth of piano repertoire, concentrating on style and period. Each term they study two or three composers ranging from the baroque-period to contemporary, or a multi-movement work; and give frequent performances at Southwark Cathedral, St Paul’s Covent Garden and the City Lit lunchtime recital series. This is their third recital at The Foundling Museum.
