Make a festive lantern to light up your Christmas holiday.

In this magical workshop delivered by artist Laura X Carlé, create a twinkly Christmas lantern. Once you’ve made your lantern, light it and join other families in a procession through the Museum galleries, spreading festive cheer as you go. At the end of the session you’ll be free to take your lantern home to enjoy during the Christmas period.

There are two sessions running from 11am-1pm and 2-4pm. The workshop is suitable for 5-12 year-olds.

From 10:30am-3:30pm we’ll also have our art trolley out in the Museum, with a free activity for children. Our friendly assistant will show you how to create an embossed Christmas decoration inspired by the tokens in our collection.

What’s included with my ticket?

Led by a professional artist with all materials provided, all you have to do is bring yourselves! We do not supply aprons so you may want to dress for a mess as the workshop will involve the use of glue. Tickets also include free entry to the Museum so you can explore at your leisure.
