There are a number of event spaces for hire in the Museum. Located on the first floor is the Court Room. With its sumptuous olive-green walls and magnificent plasterwork it is one of the best surviving Rococo interiors in London and a stunning place to hire for parties. It was here that the Foundling Hospital Governors conducted their Committee business and entertained important guests.
Across the corridor is our largest gallery for hire: the Picture Gallery. This room displays some of the Museum’s finest paintings, including William Hogarth’s impressive portrait of the Foundling Hospital’s founder, Thomas Coram. The grandeur of the room and the art on display provide elegant surroundings in which to entertain guests.
Our 1923 Broadwood & Sons grand piano, located in the Picture Gallery, can be used to set the tone for a perfect evening. Guided tours can also be arranged for smaller groups to enjoy a more intimate occasion.
If you’re looking for a unique venue or museum for hire near King’s Cross St Pancras, our dedicated staff are available to help you with everything from site visit, administration and pre-planning through to on-site management of the event itself. We also work closely with a selection of approved suppliers from caterers and florists, through to photographers and musicians. See our Plan Your Event page for more details.
Evening hire is available every day. Daytime hire is available on Mondays only.
The Capability Brown Festival held our closing celebration at the Founding Museum. It is a beautiful venue and our guests relished the Picture Gallery, the Court Room and the exhibitions, all brought to life by an introductory talk from Caro the Director. The Foundling Museum pairs its fascinating history with a friendly and efficient welcome from the events team, which was reflected in the glowing feedback we have received from our guests.
Frontline recently held a launch event for our Fellowship Network at the Foundling Museum. It was the perfect venue for an event like this, and the different spaces helped to create a dynamic event. The staff were incredibly helpful. We will certainly hold events at the Museum in the future.
I wanted to send my sincere thank you to all of you who helped make last Wednesday’s reception a success. We had a wonderful time and all our guests loved the venue. Thank you also for all the help you gave me in the planning and on the night. It made my life a lot easier.
We recently had a drinks reception at the Foundling Museum to celebrate a colleague’s retirement. The staff are welcoming and very helpful, and the catering was delicious. Many commented on what an impressive building it is. Guests very much enjoyed the short talk on the history of the Museum and enjoyed looking at the exhibits while catching up over a glass of champagne. I can’t recommend the venue enough to help you create a memorable and enjoyable evening.
I just wanted to thank your team for making the event a great success. We got really good feedback and the space was perfect for it – very magical and special. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to work together again in the future.
