Finding Yourself, a short documentary made by young people at the Foundling Museum, has been selected as a semi-finalist at the International Open Film Festival.
A group of young people aged 15-17 took part in Holborn Community Association’s youth film-making project, in partnership with the Foundling Museum and 1A Arts. Having attended scriptwriting, film-making and editing workshops with professional film-makers, the group then created their own short documentary on the theme of identity, inspired by the Museum’s Collection. The International Open Film Festival, based in New York and Dhaka, is an initiative to explore the power of film to cross countries and cultures. We are delighted that Finding Yourself has been recognised at the festival and are immensely proud of all the young people involved.
Finding Yourself was on display at the Foundling Museum from November 2015 to January 2016, and was funded by BBC Children in Need. The film can be viewed online here.
