Get creative and have fun in our family workshops this Easter holiday.

Workshops run from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Suitable for children aged 5-12.


Tuesday 2 April
Fantasy Clay Homes

Create an imaginary house out of clay inspired by the story of the Foundling Hospital and contribute to a village of imaginary homes with other families. This workshop is delivered by trainees from Tracing Our Tales, our award-winning training programme for care-experienced young people.


Wednesday 3 April
Patchwork Maps 

Join artist Christina Rose Brown to make patchwork memory maps of places that are important to you. In this workshop, explore how to work with fabric and learn simple stitching to create beautiful maps to take home.

Please note the 11am session has BSL interpretation. Interpreter: Louise Wilks.


Thursday 4 April
Journey Books

Join artist Isobel Manning to create a travel book using simple bookbinding techniques and fill the pages with drawings exploring your family’s personal journeys.


Friday 5 April
Paper Backpacks

Join artist Harriet Mena Hill to create your own paper backpack, then fill it with your favourite possessions using drawing and building techniques. Imagine you are going on a trip to another country – what would you choose to take with you?


All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Booking is essential and includes free entry to the Museum. Entry for the accompanying adult is free. Admission for additional adults is charged.

Free Golden Tickets are available for local residents, families in receipt of Pension Credit, Universal Credit, Income Support, Personal Independence Payment and Job Seekers Allowance.
